RACV Ladies Masters - February

The Australian Ladies Masters was introduced to the Australian golfing calendar in 1990.

In 1992 the Ladies Masters moved to its permanent home the RACV Royal Pines Resort.
Events Queensland, RACV, along with the Gold Coast City Council commitment on going has enabled the Ladies Masters to grow in statue and gain the support of profile players annually. Co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and Australian Ladies Professional Golf the Ladies Masters is the corner stone of Ladies Professional Golf in Australia with some twenty-five countries represented.

The ASP 4-Star Breaka Burleigh Pro will once again see the best local and international surfers take to the famed waves of Burleigh Heads. The Quiksilver Pro and the Roxy Pro, are World Championship Tour events for men and women, respectively. The Quiksilver Pro is one of ten events comprising the ASP Men's World Tour, and the Roxy Pro is one of seven events on the ASP Women's World Tour.

Both events show case the sport's top athletes competing in some of the best waves on the ASP World Tour, in this case, the Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast. The 2013 Whereis® Australian Surf Life Saving Championships will be from Monday 15 April – Sunday 21 April
First held in 1915 in heavy seas at Bondi, the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, now familiarly known as “The Aussies,” has grown into one of the nation’s premier sporting events. Today, almost 100 years on, it remains as a prestigious celebration of lifesaving in all forms of surf competition.

From the traditional surf boats, R and R and belt swimming, to the modern day Ironman and Ironwoman racing first introduced at Coolangatta in 1966, today over 10,000 competitors and club members make their annual pilgrimage to the host beach as they chase those elusive gold medals.

The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is considered one of the best shows in the Asia/Pacific region as an industry showcase.The 2013 event marks the 25th annual show.

The annual four-day event is staged at Sanctuary Cove, which is located in the northern Gold Coast region.

The Show displays a wide selection of marine products and services including superyachts, luxury power cruisers, power and sail multihulls, trailerable craft, kayaks, jetskis and watercraft plus engines, electronics, navigational gear and marine services.

How to Get There:
Sanctuary Cove is located on the northern Gold Coast, an easy 50 minute drive from Brisbane, 40 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport, and 20 minutes from the famous Gold Coast beaches. Located on the Coomera River, Sanctuary Cove offers direct access to the Broadwater and the Pacific Ocean, its spectacular harbour provides deep water mooring for all vessels. Water access for the Show is available from all ports. Car Parking is available at Parklands (Southport) and Helensvale Train Station also acts as a base for Park n Ride Shuttle services to and from the show to these locations.

Special Note:
There is no public parking on site during the Show. Instead there are streamlined transport options with park 'n' ride, water taxi and ferries, helicopter transfer, limousine or taxi drop off.

Commonwealth Games -  April 2018

From April 4-15, 2018 the Commonwealth Games will be held on the Gold Coast.

Over 11 days of competition, 6,500 athletes and officials from 71 member countries and territories will participate in 17 sports, including para-sports for elite athletes with disabilities. It is one of the biggest international multi-sporting events in the world. The Commonwealth Games is one of the largest elite multi-sport events in the world and hosting the Games is the equivalent of staging 15 world championships simultaneously.

The 2018 Games will be the largest international sporting event staged in Australia for a decade. The 2018 Commonwealth Games will feature 10 compulsory and seven optional sports. These are:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

With the exceptions of shooting, track cycling and preliminary rounds of basketball, all 2018 Games competition will be held at venues on the Gold Coast. The Games are televised to a global audience in excess of 1.5 billion, with more than 1000 hours of broadcast covered by 3000 media representatives.Since 1930, Australia has been proudly represented at every Commonwealth Games.

The Gold Coast will welcome athletes, officials and visitors from all over the world, with open arms and warm hearts. The focus will be on the athletes, with the world's best showcased in the pursuit of international sporting excellence. The competition will be passionate and fiercely competitive, but conducted in a fun and friendly environment.
The teams, friends and families will be made to feel right at home by 15,000 of our finest and most dedicated volunteers, and a community intent on delivering a great and memorable Commonwealth Games. Pan Pacific Masters Games - November

Pan Pacific Masters Games,1-9 November 2014

The Pan Pacific Masters Games has grown to become Queensland’s largest multi-sport event and we aim to attract over 11,000 masters competitors from around the world.

The event showcases world-class sporting venues and facilities across the Gold Coast. From Coomera Regatta Waters in the north, to Tallebudgera in the south, a total of 42 venues will play host to 39 different sports.

The Pan Pacific Masters Games is a chance to get together and compete in a city that is already one of Australia’s premier sporting destinations.

Ahead of the Commonwealth Games in 2018, we are building the necessary infrastructure as well as creating a platform for manufacturing, training, science and education. Athletes of all sports and levels are at home in our well-equipped, friendly city – from elite competitors to those seeking a healthier lifestyle.

During the Games, across nine days of competition and eight nights of entertainment, participants and spectators will experience the best the Gold Coast has to offer.

The place to say goodbye to 2013 and hello to 2014 is amid the most spectacular fireworks display in South East Queensland.

The Surfers Paradise Foreshore will once again prove it is the only place to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

Bring your sparklers, party hats and picnic blankets and see in the New Year. The Surfers Paradise New Year's Eve Fireworks display will once again be a breathtaking spectacle. There will be two shows on the night, a family display at 9pm and the full display at midnight which will once again be one of the largest displays in Queensland. Get down early to reserve your place along the Foreshore.
